Losses from pests and diseases in almond orchards can be significant, and these projects are addressing key problems, looking for improved management options . For the pests project, the main targets are Carpophilus beetle and carob moth, and for diseases, hull rot and lower limb dieback.
Ag Dynamics were engaged to support the projects in industry liaison and monitoring and evaluation programmes. This support was under a sub-contract with Agriculture Victoria, commencing in early 2018 and was completed on mid-2020. The projects are ongoing until late 2022.
