Growth of the new plantings has been very good, and despite some brutal weather (50 degrees!) all trees have survived and are even thriving. Windbreaks were planted in late Spring, and with some irrigation have established well and are protecting the young orchard from the high winds experienced this year.
A significant development has also been the recent purchase of an additional 4 hectares of producing trees, adjacent to the existing orchard. Whilst some of this will need replanting in the coming few years, there are some good mid- and late-season navel trees bearing a healthy crop.
